Because you like to look at her. Admit it

Especially when she looks this bad.

Why I will never work as a sysAdmin

You see, I could work as a system administrator, or some other computer geek job. But I don't like stupid people. Don't get me wrong, the work I do now involves lots of stupid people. Frankly, in my business, darling, I need people like that. But I can pretend to be one of them, and most of the time they don't notice.

This means I don't get blamed for things people don't understand. I don't have people calling and asking me stupid questions, and if they do, I can pretend not to know the answer. Best of all, nobody threatens to call the FBI on me because they're too stupid to read.

The Tuttle, Oklahoma city manager, Jerry Taylor threatened to call the FBI on a Corpus Christi software developer because he couldn't access the city's website. The city's website was hosted on a free linux distro from centos. If you've ever configured an apache server, you've seen something very much like this. If you can't understand what that all means, you should call your favorite geek, and he'll tell you what to do.

Not Jerry Taylor. He threatened Johnny Hughes at CentOs. Yep, that's the answer, I can't see my website, so it's clearly HACKERS! and not just hackers, but hackers who clearly post their name and contact info on the page they've "hacked."

Read the whole correspondence here.

Meanwhile, if you're running a web server and need a free linux distro, I suggest contacting Johnny Hughes at CentOs, he seems like a really patient and forgiving kind of geek. (And he's in Corpus Christi, which automatically makes him cool- it's sort of like Tempe that way.)

Because it's the only way to make you read

Yeah, she used to be sooo easy on the eyes.

Now she's married to some greasy slob who needs to have a babysitter.

It's somehow satisfying seeing Britney hit the wall at 24.

As her looks fade, we all feel better about ourselves. When the police come to her house to check on the kids, we feel like great parents.

Poor Britney...

You can come stay with me if you need to.

Fooled again

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

Nothing ever changes.

"Why, of course, the people don't want war," Goering shrugged. "Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

"There is one difference," I pointed out. "In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."
