Come and get it.

When do we admit that your idea of respecting your religion and our idea of respect for religion are incompatible?

From yesterday's NYTIMES
"We will not accept less than severing the heads of those responsible," one preacher at Al Omari mosque in Gaza told worshipers during Friday Prayer, according to Reuters. Other demonstrators called for amputating the hands of the cartoonists who drew the pictures.

Cartoons of Mohammed

I like this one. The whole set can be found at Die Welt

I think it's great that the Europeans are finally showing a little bit of spine!

Ah, freedom, angering the religous right all over the world.

Congratulations to all the newspapers who were brave enough to print these cartoons! I know that must have been difficult, here in the US, nobody is willing to reprint them yet, they just describe them with text. Whatever! Grow a pair!

The best way to deal with religious extremists is to never give in to them. Fight them tooth and nail, and never never never never give them the satisfaction of victory. it only makes them more demanding. For instance:

Here at home our very own taliban, the American Family Association are pitching a fit over Britanny Spears appearing on Will and Grace...

Jack's fictional network, Out TV, is bought by a Christian TV network, leading to Spears contributing a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixin's." To further denigrate Christianity, NBC chose to air it the night before Good Friday. - from the AFA Newsletter

Clash of cultures? We're really not all that different. The only difference that I can see is the Muslim public is somewhat more organized (maybe their afterlife is better?)
