Altered conciousness

I was in a light sleep the other day. I had to get up soon to go to work, and I was enjoying the last few moments of rest before I had to get up. I felt myself falling into a deeper sleep, and I jerked my eyes open to wake up.

Thats when I saw it.

In place of the usual visual images, I saw words.

Words with bullet points next to them floating in space, words like ceiling, wall, window, curtain, door, alarm clock, cat, light, bed, pillow, etc.

The words all swam to their locations in the room and suddenly became the things they represented.

I don't know how to interpret this, maybe its a kind of dream; maybe the world is really just made of words. Maybe what we think we see as objective reality is really just an abstraction, and where I see a ceiling, perhaps there is no such thing as a ceiling, it's just the idea of a ceiling. This would come as some suprise to the people who build apartments, but perhaps what they do is just manipulate the idea of plaster against the idea of a wood frame to create the idea of a ceiling.

I suppose it doesn't matter as long as it keeps the concept of bad weather out of my room.

Sunday evening an entire church of people hung out at the pool at my apartment, a preacher was telling them this is the end of the world, they better be ready.

It isn't the end of the world, and calling it god's plan is just an easy way to get good people to accept the unacceptable.

There is no prophecy, nothing is written.

It doesn't have to be this way.

We say Iran is evil because they sell weapons to Hizbollah that wind up killing Israeli civilians.

I bet they're saying the same thing about us, since we sell even bigger weapons to Israel that kill Lebanese civilians.

No, it's not the end of the world, Jesus is not going to come down and make everything all right.

And if he tried, we'd kill him.
