DeLaying Justice

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.

By now I'm sure you've heard that Tom DeLay's lawyers have filed a motion to get a change of venue. You haven't? What? Don't you follow Texas politics? Better than baseball any day.

They're saying that Judge Bob Perkins isn't fit to judge the case, since he gave $5,185 to democratic candidates and groups in the last five years. Of course, the State of Texas, represented by prosecutor Ronnie Earle, disagrees.

What to do?

Ask another judge of course!

But who, praytell could make such a decision?

The decision on how to handle the recusal hearing will be made by regional administrative Judge B.B. Schraub, a Republican who has administered the 3rd Judicial District since 1990. He has donated $5,900 to Texas Republican candidates since 2000, according to the Texas Ethics Commission. He made $1,250 in donations to President Bush's campaign in the 2000 election, according to the Center for Responsive Politics database. - Houston Chronicle

Ahem... Let's think this through, Judge Perkins can't give a fair ruling on the case because he gave money to democrats, not opponents of Tom DeLay, just democratic causes in general. But Judge Schraub, who has given even more money to republicans, he has no conflict of interest.

Now its clear.

I see it is time to play spammer whack-a-mole...

Ahhh, the joy that is Texas politics. It is like comedy night on the WB with fewer black people. OWR should be the name of their TV show, you know, for Old White Retards, I mean Republicans. "I only want to be judged by those who donated to my campaign and the campaigns of all my cronies." "He can't judge me. He is a Dumocrat." "This guy over here is a Repub...I mean an impartial judge of character." "Damn judges from the Democrat party." Gotta love those OWR's...Threw that last Democrat comment in just for you JC. I know how much you love it when people call it Democrat party. *sounds of Engligh majors everywhere reloading as I run away.*

And another thing, if you can't play nice, you shouldn't play at all. It is one thing to engage in debate and push people's buttons but to be personally insulting....

It's like those guys who drive really big trucks so they can look down on others on the roadway, they are making up for something else. Hmmm. Wee Willie Winkie, Mr. Ekshin??

Perhaps you have nothing to say but like to hear yourself talk.

MJCJ is cute. I bet he gets tons of pussy.

I have removed the previous drunken rant at the request of it's author.

However, in the future, I do not believe I will remove any rants no matter how drunk you are when you post them.

hmmm.. maybe I should put in the word matching stuff...

take it easy, read some new posts, get mad about something else for a while!

Ah, my "winkey" is indeed wee, and I weep in sorrow every day for it's sad state. But during the rest of the day, I sigh and weep for what I see, read, observe, and even feel empathy for. I marvel at the observed fervent railings of those with the time to type them.

But to be honest, I must admit also feeling envy for those who can devote so much personal effort to these public debates.

Caring about Whales, Wales, or even the consequences of our invasion of Iraq requires the ability to get past the daily jolt of gas prices, milk, and difficulty of dealing with whomever is your "person to call in case of emergency".

I envy that, honestly. I wish I could be so set and secure as to wish to change my choice of preferred cosmetic manufacturer in order to make a difference. All while my personal life is nagging for more "quality time".

Even the act of switching to a strictly "subway sandwich" diet is beyond my scope. I excercise, eat garbage, and just get by in lumpy, but rugged fashion.

I spout vehemount diatribe easily, and see what bites. Sheesh. Can't I catch anything anymore? Maybe I just "need a bigger boat".

I have learned a while back that to say what's on the top of my mind wittily, but without thought of it's effects on others is "kicking up too much sand in the face of the kids playing in the box." (that was hard to phrase... YOU try it! :P )

I find this one of the most intelligent sites that I've found. I'm even dismayed to see that most responders are literate, learned, and bold.

Hard to change my habits, but I may have to stay around and read more. I may have to.

Because now that I have made my proper "bad entrance", I think I can work my way into dicussion from my favorite position... Being disregarded to being ignorred to being possibly begrudged...

I like having to earn it, instead of being taken at face value. Anyone know what that means?

I suck, am usually drunk (as am now) and have some occasional thoughts to share. Please feel free to tell me to f*ck off if disagreements turn rabid.

I'm at least a sport. And hope to learn to have as good manners as the rest.

Hi! I'm "Ek". I used to be "JC's" roomate. I deserve no special consideration in any way for that. I've begun as a boor. And hope to be taken as such. Anything more than that I hope to earn. Anything less will be par.

"Nothing to see here... Move along... Oooo! Is that Machiavelli? Yo homey! I gots questions! You gots_ta hear what I got brewing! Dope shit yo! :D "

Peas. :)
